Our history
Founded in 2023 by parent carers with firsthand experience of navigating the SEND system and military life, Neurodiverse Community CIC was born from a simple truth — families like ours deserved better. The delays, the emotional strain, the isolation of fighting for support that should already exist. That early frustration set the stage for everything we do today — creating safe, inclusive spaces where neurodivergent children, adults and families can access real support, without judgement and without a diagnosis.
What started as a small, community-led initiative has grown into a recognised organisation delivering life-changing services across two locations and beyond. From independent SEND advice and youth groups to armed forces family support and professional training, we continue to bridge the gaps that too many families still face.

Our graduates
The children and young people who come through our doors grow in confidence, connection and self-belief. Parents tell us their children feel understood for the first time — that they’ve found a place where they truly belong.
Our youth sessions are designed to be fun, inclusive and empowering. From creative workshops and woodland activities to museum partnerships and social groups, we help young people aged 0–25 develop skills, friendships and resilience — at their own pace, in their own way.
Our community
Our families come from across North Yorkshire, Windsor & Maidenhead, and the wider armed forces community — creating a close-knit network built on shared experience and mutual support. Whether you’re a parent navigating the SEND system, a young person looking for a safe space, or a military family new to the area, our community is here for you.
We deliver inclusive, sensory-friendly sessions designed around the real needs of neurodivergent individuals. From Sensory Explorers and YouthAbility groups to peer-led adult support and independent SEND advice — everything we do is shaped by lived experience and grounded in understanding.

Health & Safety
The safety and wellbeing of every child, young person and adult who accesses our services is our absolute priority. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of safeguarding practice, and every member of our team is trained and DBS checked.
At Neurodiverse Community CIC, we understand that feeling safe is the foundation for everything else. Our sessions are designed to be inclusive, sensory-aware and emotionally supportive — so that every individual can engage at their own pace, in their own way.
